Dr. Islami, a Hematology and Oncology Specialist, listed the consumption of a diet rich in fruits and vegetables and regular physical activity as key strategies to reduce the risk of colorectal cancer.
According to the news report by Golestan Radio and TV, Dr. Mohammad Islami Jouybari stated on the sidelines of the Colorectal Cancer Updates Conference in Gonbad Kavus:
“A diet high in meat and low in vegetables, physical inactivity, or obesity are contributing factors to the development of colorectal cancer. Abdominal pain, changes in bowel movements, weight loss, and the presence of blood in the stool are warning signs of colorectal cancer.”
Dr. Davood Mozaffari, the scientific secretary of the conference, mentioned:
“Early diagnosis, personalized treatment for each individual, and the goal of minimizing side effects while achieving the best treatment response were among the key issues discussed at this conference.”
Ten specialists from the Hematology and Oncology Association gave lectures at the conference.
Dr. Nasim Faizi, the radiotherapy technical director at 5 Azar Hospital in Gorgan, also said:
“All non-surgical treatments, such as radiotherapy and chemotherapy, are covered by free insurance at this center.”
